Meet Our Team
Owner - Director of Finance & Administration
Glen - Aka 'Papa Bear' is the brains behind the Axeville operation. With his obsessive and keen sense for researching EVERYTHING, Glen has not missed one detail of ways to make Axeville a fun, safe and memorable experience for all who visit. His likeness to a lumberjack will serve him well as the mascot and spokesperson for Axeville. And after many MANY years of 'field research', his love for and knowledge of all things beer ensures that Axeville serves the best that Beer City has to offer.
Owner - Director of Facility Operations
It's no coincidence that this bundle of energy has the initials RPM as he never seems to stop! Ryan is the creative force behind the operational side of the Axeville business and brings the ingenuity required to make Axeville the fun and energized space that people will want to hang out in and keep coming back to. When Ryan is not completely submerged in all things Axeville, you can find him somewhere around the area on an extremely expensive bike in way-too-clingy lycra ensembles. Or spending time with his beautiful and uber-supportive wife, Bobbi and his son, Regan.
Owner - Director of Marketing, Events and Social Media
Amy - Aka 'Mama Bear' brings her creative eye and marketing background to the Axeville family to make sure that the word gets out how awesome Axeville is. Amy worked many years in event production and design as well as retail merchandising, both of which ensure the atmosphere at Axeville is one that will make people want to hang out in and return to. Amy also oversees the event planning for Axeville and will bring her creative and fun ideas to your event or party, whether it be a private party, corporate / team building, bachelor / bachelorette or any other type of celebration.
Meet Our Axperts
Mike - Aka Mikey G, Mad Mike (because he never gets mad), Iceman (he's an ice cube aficionado), the Wolf (he's a nature lover) - always wearing a big smile, has a great sense of humor and is a real down to earth family man with a big heart. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Mikey G was a boyscout and was the only one in the troop that loved wearing a Daniel Boone raccoon tail hat. He recently moved to the AVL area from New Jersey and is enjoying his retirement life in the mountains with his wife, sons and new friends. After many years in sales, he's landed his dream job... his fun job here at Axeville. He has the experience of working with people on many levels which makes him a tremendous asset to our Axeville family.
Now that his career as a child model is behind him, Hunter has moved on to being an artist/handyman here in Asheville NC working his way through school and filling the role as one of our axperts. He has been with us since the beginning of our journey, painting our mural and building the bar. Hunters previous experience in working events and parties makes him a great candidate to ensure our guests have fun all while staying safe.
Joe comes to us from sunny South-West Florida where he obtained a degree in film, became a strength coach, and cultivated a love of all things martial and medieval. His experience in Olympic Weightlifting has made him an effective instructor, and will ensure that you’re crushing bullseyes in no time!
Jake is a Raleigh NC native but made the move to Asheville because of his love for the mountains. When he's not at Axeville coaching our guests on throwing bullseyes, you can find him engaging in one of his many hobbies / passions like rock climbing, snowboarding, hiking, graphic design and photography.
Originally raised in Colorado Austin L is the poster child for what some would call a “Renaissance Man”. skills running the spectrum from Survival and bushcraft instructor to electrical engineering, metal fabrication, artist, EMT, Designer, Sculpture, He is the Macgyver of the modern day. He is also an Olympus “Visionary” sponsored Photographer and award-winning Filmmaker. A lot of his time is dedicated as Co-Director/Member for Local 501C3 "Warriors OF Ash” Practicing and teaching “HEMA” Historical European Martial arts. Drew is a homegrown Asheville native and graduate of the Literature and Language program of UNCA. He would also like you to know that, yes, his collegiate training in poetry has, in fact, more than adequately prepared him to be an Axpert, thank you very much. When Drew is not teaching people how to throw axes, he can be found cooking Thai food, reading obscure British Sci-Fi, proselytizing about the (numerous) benefits of using the Linux operating system, learning how to write code for websites, and day dreaming about when he will finish writing his detective fiction novel. Drew lives in a very small house with his girlfriend of nearly a decade. This agonizing and trying experience has led the couple to one agonizing and unavoidable conclusion: they must go smaller. Currently, the couple is dreaming of the day that they can purchase a van and convert it into a cross-country travel vehicle.
Meet Our Beertenders
Jenn L - "That's Dope, Yo"
Jenn is an Asheville native, born and raised and is a graduate of Erwin High and AB Tech. When she's not wielding her charm at our bar checking in our guests, she's either working at her full time job as a medical biller or shooting hoops, hiking or camping somewhere in the Avl area. At Axeville, we like to call her 'That's Dope, Yo' but her nickname at home is 'Chubs' as she had a veracious appetite growing up but never would gain weight. Jenn's spontaneous, outgoing and adventurous personality makes her a blast to work and ensures our guests feel right at home when checking in and spending time at Axeville.

PLEASE NOTE: Axeville Throwing Club is an 18 yrs + club. As much as we love kids, our space is catered to adults having fun and isn't an ideal environment for children. We are planning on scheduling specific event days in the future where we can create a safe environment to open up our club to children's groups and family functions but, for now, we are strictly adults only.
